Slave to the rhythm

Shannon "Let the music play"

Chemise "She can't love you"

Dj Medhi feat. Chromeo "I am somebody"

Chicken Lips "White dwarf"

33 Hz "Call me up"

A funky post inspired by the lovely Shannon video I saw this morning on Vh1 Classic.
I didn't grow up with that sound but I especially like these synthetic singles that stormed the charts after disco death and before the new jack era.
It is still refreshing and inspires numbers of current artists as you can hear in this selection.

Thanks for that post (and your comment), and for me Chemise was brought back from the dead by the first Culture Club compilation mixed by The Glimmers :)

I totally agree with keepitcomingster ! And the Glimmers kept on using that kind of disco/italo/synth music in the others issues of the Culture Club Series, you should check it out even though it's not always very easy to find in french records stores (vive la FNAC :-( )
